How can I see if my former landlord has complaints?

MN Uncategorized

I have just moved away from a terrible landlord and would like to file a complaint.  I am curious to know if there is a place I can see if other tenants of this particular landlord have filed complaints?  Is there a place i can see this type of information?  Thank you.

Yes, you can normally pull a free landlord risks report to see what types of complaints have been filed against your landlord. However, the system is supposedly offline for a week while the RPA migrates the databases to new servers.

One way to see if your landlord has any complaints is to do a google search for your landlord. Here’s how you can do a Google Search:

Search Parameters: Property Name City State (Or, you can use Landlord name)

I just googled the following: Parkwest properties columbus ohio
I found a complaint record listed as the 3rd result. If you google your landlord and they don’t have a record show up in google, then most likely they have a clean record. Click on the link to see my exact search results.

I hope that helps. In the future, you can just check the complaint history right through the RPA site. (but since they are upgrading servers, you can try the google thing.)
