Problems with Landlord and a Single Parent That’s Stepping Out On Faith

GA Apartment Complaint, Frustrated Renter, Landlord Problems

Good morning, My name is Kameisha Ferguson I am 22 years old with three kids and yes I am a single parent of all three kids and enjoys it even though it gets rough but it is not as bad as it looks. Well the reason of this email is because I live in Brittany woods on Old Statenville Rd Apt. N-3. I have lived there for 3 to 4 years it is infested with rats, roaches, and lizards. I can understand that no matter where I go I would have this problem but it is above the limit where I would find more than 10 rats a week sometimes. They bite holes in my wall and tears up important paper work, and also clothes. My kids can’t sleep because lizards crawl on them. I have a very rude Manager, I have tried telling her of this problem and many more which I will state later, and she have not taken actions like a property manager should. I have told her several occasions about damaged plugs that don’t have a frame to it, dirty walls, disgusting carpet where I would get on my hands and knees to clean and it get back like it was before I clean, infested shelf up under kitchen sink, damaged tile, and holes in walls. And it stayed like that for over 4 months but not the rodent problem it has been like since I have moved in Brittanywoods. I have brought to her attention many times but no actions was taken until a recent event that occurred April 12, 2010 where I asked her if she checked my problems that was going on in the apartment and I asked her 2 to 3 times within 10 seconds and she literally ignored me so I had spoke my mind never threaten her and said I was calling HUD and when I brought that up she turned around and tried to talk to me and I told her I didn’t want to speak to anyone who would treat me that way so she shaid she was going to put it in writting and the next thing I know she brings an evictions notice saying I threaten her and Jesus is my witness even though he put 3 or 4 people in my mist to back it up; this is not the only rude attention she has shown towards me and I have reported to HUD before but they did not take no actions from what I see in my knowledge if it had this would not be an issue as of today. I have called HUD with this issue but they have not returned any of my calls. I have called the regional manager and also the corporate office that is over the regional manager but my call was never returned. Also, after this issue came I used a neighbor phone and she seen and heard that I called HUD she later went to her house chastising her within an hour time frame. And I would also like to bring to your knowledge that I have 2 kids that has asthma, my son has seizures and nose bleed, and my 2 year old daughter has been in and out of the hospital since birth, she has had to get a blood transfusions, she has a hole in her heart, and her immune system is not as strong as it should be. I have tried many of times to get SSI for but I was denied. I attend Valdosta Technical College, I have no vehicle at this time but soon to come, I’m in the choir. attend church regularly and bible study, and I am a baby in Christ but growing more and more. I pray every time that God put in my spirit to bless me with a deceit house, car, and a job; so I can support him firstly and then my kids. And not just that I keep it my heart to serve him in all that I do and I’m not going to say that I don’t slip because I do but I do ask forgiveness like I’m instructed to do. These last 5 or 6 months maybe more but mainly, since January 1, 2010 he has brought me along way and I thank him. The reason of this notice is I’m Stepping Out on Faith. If you can’t help me please direct me or send this email to someone who could please. In Jesus Name!!!!!

It sounds like your landlord should be responsible for pest removal.  However, I don’t think much can be done to help you get a car or to pay medical bills.  I would suggest you contact some local government programs for welfare assistance.
As  for your rent problems, just file a complaint with the RPA.
Good Luck!

WOW!  I couldn’t even finish reading your post… uhh what exactly are you wanting.  If you were looking for a place to whine, well I guess you found that.  Are you looking for a hand-out??  Try the food bank, or wic, or food stamps, or the housing authority to assist with rent.
No one here will be sending you any money.  So if that’s what you’re hoping for; you’re not going to get it!!

Richard– you’re kind of being mean.  While  I agree that  Kameisha should search for a welfare program to assist her, I don’t agree that she is whining.  She obviously is stressed about about how her landlord is treating her.

Kameisha– I want you to know that I actually took the time to read your entire post.  Good luck and best wishes to you.  (Even though Richard came off a little rude, he does provide a list a great programs to help you with your situation)

I have a solution for you:  F A M I L Y ! ! !
It sounds like you need to find your family.  They should be able to provide you with the emotional help you are seeking.  No matter what any of my kids do, they will always be welcome back.
Take some time for you.  See what Mom and Dad can do to comfort you.  You could also talk to your bishop about getting help.
Best Wishes!
