Last week the wives of my two bosses came to my home and announced they were there to do an inspection. My wife and I were told at that time that every few weeks one of them would come by for an inspection and that no notice would be given because they didn’t want us to be able to prepare for them. I know that a landlord has certain rights, however, can they legally come over unannounced whenever they decided to do an inspection? Thanks for any advice! Originally posted 2010-06-24 15:41:29.

As a Colorado Renters as of today, there is no required notice prior to a landlord doing an inspection. Most states will require landlord to provide a 24 hour written notice, but not Colorado. There is no statute concerning entry notice. Even if there was would you really want to make a stand against your landlord when he is also your boss? I wouldn’t.

As long as you rent from your boss, you are going to have to live by their rules no matter how unfair they seem.
