I’ve been renting with this specific property management agency for several year now, and I must be stupid to have stayed here this long. We’ve had several appliances break down, and it typically takes several weeks for anything to be repaired. Our refrigerator melted, and we called every day for 5 days before it was replaced. I actually had to resort to using friend’s phones to call my landlord because he ignored my number. Now we have moved to a larger apartment in the same complex and the new refrigerator (which I had to move myself) has also broken down. I have about $200 of groceries in it, and I can’t afford to wait another week to get a new refrigerator. What should I do?

The only thing you can really do is call them to request that they repair it. If they still ignore you after a day or two, you can take it to the next level such as filing a landlord complaint with the Rental Protection Agency. That will open a case and assign an RPA Agent to help get your refrigerator repaired immediately.
Good Luck.

Well, my suggestion is to hit the dollar menu’s! You can’t beat Wendy’s Jr. Bacon for $1.00. That should ease the pain of eating out so much. Personally, I would say enjoy it! How often do you get that opportunity to be forced to eat fast food. LUCKY!

My Landlord is planning to rewrite our contract asking me to be responsible in repairs and maintenance on all appliances in the home. I have lived there for 3 years and the house is atleast 9 yrs. old. Is this fair? I have two small children and I do not want to move in the middle of the school yr. all because he wants to change the contract now that things are starting to fall apart. For example, the 9yr. old refrigerator. What do think? Thanks for the advice.
