Still waiting for security deposit now for a month since moving

PA Legal Questions

You advised me to pay rent even with ceiling leak and now I have not received security deposit since moving in Feb 2010. He sure wanted his rent immediately and not right I should have to wait for mine. I should have reported leak to city building inspector and had the place condemned. I should have let the plumber report landlord for wanting to fix problem by putting up a tarp. Where do I go from here to get security? And I do have pictures!

Do you mean your upset about the advice given?
You’re probably not going to get any answers by yelling at people who gave you rental advice before.  You didn’t exactly mention who gave you the prior advice and I don’t see a link to your previous post, so I really have no idea what you’re referring to.  All I can do is make a guess about your situation.
I would think that someone told you to pay your rent even though you had a water leak from your ceiling.  Well, if that’s true the advice given to you was solid.  Had you retained your rent and not payed your landlord because of the problem, well; things could be much worse for you.   Had you withheld your rent most likely you would be here saying that you’re mad because you withheld your rent and now have an eviction on your record not to mention a damaged credit report.
Things could be worse.  Be glad you got the advice to pay your rent.  My question is why didn’t you get legal help?  The RPA has a nearly free program that could have helped you negotiate this for you.  All you needed to do was file a complaint and pay the minimal processing fee.  Sounds like a classic step over a dollar to pick up a dime story.
