what are the mold laws

WA Uncategorized

Ok I have a "perpetual" mold issue in the bathroom of my apartment. We run the the fan for atleast 45 minutes after taking a shower and even pointed the mold out to my landlord and they told me to buy kills or just scrub it with bleach when it gets bad. My wife is allergic to mold. I’m considering buying KILZ and deducting the cost from the rent (giving them the receipt of course). Is that legal for me to do and/or what are my rights as a tennant in WA state regarding this issue?

I moved in to a new apartment on October 13, 2010. I paid the landlord by his request $600 in cash for the rest of October. I still have not received a copy of my lease or rental application. He said he will give me a copy when I pay November’s rent. On October 29 18 days in the apartment, the landlord came by to collect the rent for November. I told him I will have it on the 1st of November which was on a monday. He was very angry and said that this will not work for him and that I should not unpack and find somewhere else to live. What can I do? I only been there for 18 days and now i’m being evicted…
