COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Landlord has attempted to deal with the problem through their exterminator. Although they have only sprayed twice in the two month period. After each spray, the infestation just gets worse. Second income has been lost, as I can no longer run a home daycare here anymore until this problem is fixed. We were instructed to vacuum. We have done everything that they have instructed us to do. We have a one year old son, and I am currently pregnant. My doctor has told me it is a unsafe environment especially for me to be having all of these bites. Infection is a serious concern to him during my pregnancy. Also not an approved environment by the pediatrician for our son or our new baby to come. We have asked to be moved to a new apartment... but they keep putting it off and wanting to talk to their exterminator and then get back to us. We understand it is a process to get rid of the bugs, but the process should not be for us to be living in an un-habitable apartment. Other methods of killing the bed bugs should be used as the spraying is clearly not working at all... and making things worse.

LANDLORD / TENANT RESPONSES (0)
From Date IP Address Response
Landlord Jun 22, 2011 68.188.100.189 Our office was notified of a bed bug issue on 5/19/11 - our exterminator came out that day and treated the apartment. Since then our exterminator has treated the apartment 3 times. After speaking with the residents I allowed them to transfer to a two bedroom apartment on 6/17/11 so this issue is considered resolved. I cannot address the loss of income due to the home daycare - our terms and conditions prohibit this. We do not allow residents to conduct any kind of business including child care services in the premises.
