COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Last Spring, i began breaking out in hives all over my body. I was so sick for about 3 to 4 months. I couldn't sleep, could't eat, always itchy every where but all the hives appeared through out the day & at random times. My dr. said it was stress. I had even got strep and woke up covered in hives and they thought I was having an allergic reaction. One day I was sleeping on my couch and awoke in the middle of the night to find some bug on me. I hike a lot and thought it was a tick. Until the next day I inspected my couch and found it infested, bugs every where on the creases, every where in my room my kids room, even by the door way of the apartment!! My management team told me I had to pack everything up and they would come treat. & they did for two months every two weeks I had to pack up the whole apartment, wash every piece of cloth in the house, vacum daily, change my bags daily and so on. I thought I was getting the expert treatment. They assured me it would be fine and as long as I did what they said. Now while all of this is going on, I have neighbors above me moving out. And they were throwing EVERYTHING away! Along with others through out this process. Now a month later, I have seen activity only in my kids bedroom. I called my management team and told them to please have the inspector come again, and he confirmed Im infested and told the managers Its my fault that I brought them back. In all honesty I think my building is infected, I have thrown beds away, clothes, furniture, I have almost nothing now. I even bought mattress encasement, vacuumed once a week, sprayed w/ alcohol and water like they instructed. Ive sought out other alternatives, & found heat treatment terminator who will guaranteeing their services, however they cannot do this without treating the building because they feel it is the complex as well. My landlord says its all my fault, that I cannot move and just have to deal with it. I really dont feel that this fumigating is working as it doesn't reach the crevises in the carpets all over the apartment or the breaking walls or behind outlets. After doing further research I found that these guys have kept info from me that would help the process and they claim their bomb kills eggs and all bugs behind all walls. The fumes, stink, the odor is still in my house from the last rounds, Im consered for my & children's health, sanity, and financially this is taking my all.

LANDLORD / TENANT RESPONSES (1)
From Date IP Address Response
Landlord Sep 6, 2011 74.95.117.169 At the beginning of May 2011 we were notified by Rosealinda Sandoval that she had found a small bug on her couch. She stated that she thought the bug was a tick until she found more on the couch later that evening. We scheduled immediately with our pest control service for her home to be treated and her apartment received three different treatments and was cleared by the pest control company. On August 16th we were notified by Rosealinda that her home needed to be checked again for bed bugs. At this time she was told by employee that we would have to charge because these bugs were being brought in from the outside. We have not received any other complaints from the residents in her building. On August 18th I did meet with Rosealinda, she stated that it had to be coming from neighbors. I notified her that we had no complaints from any other residents and would schedule a heat treatment in her home. This work was completed on Wednesday August 24th. Since then we have also had the apartments surrounding Rosealinda’s apartment inspected with a certified dog. No bed bugs were found in these apartment homes.

Renter Aug 18, 2011 76.120.28.235 I spoke with the manager today, Kim, she stated we can do a heat treatment on the apartment. However, I will have to pay for the treatment. Which is 500.00. I don't have a problem with paying the cost, but I just want to make sure this is resolved already. I just wanted to update my status as far as where this situation is going. Thank you
