As I was living in the room that I was rented out to, I was given the right to have one guest to sleep over night only once in a while. All utilities including water and electricity were provided in my $400 rent. However, the landlord saw me and a friend cook together once every week and threatened to raise my rent because I have guests over. She also told me that I use too much electricity and water even though I only visit my rented room twice per week max. In addition, ever since I've moved into the room I've progressively felt a lot of fatigue. The room has a very strong paint or chemical smell which I cannot get rid of; when I went for a doctor's visit, she suggested that I try to air out the room if I can and not breathe in too much of the fumes since it may cause my fatigue that has been ongoing since my move. Also, many nights that I was there I see very big spiders moving in the cracks of the ceiling. Lastly, my housemate has complained of mold growing on his equipment and clothes. The dishes and food making utilities are sometimes dirty to start with and she blames me for not cleaning things up when I always wash everything. She currently is refusing to give me my deposit as I leave but instead "mail" it to me. I do not know if I can trust her.
