COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Our Apt was treated back in august/september for bed bugs and after two weeks we continued to see them. Pest Control said it may take up to a month for them to die off. After a month we still saw them and they came and sprayed again. We still saw them and they came out and said they didnt see anything and said they were going to have to charge us for another treatment. We declined to pay again because the problem was never corrected. They sent a few letters to see if the problem was still present, we did not respond due to the fact they wanted us to pay again and the problem was subsiding. After a month and a half to two months after the complaint we no longer had any problems. Pest control them comes out in January 2012 on their weekly pest control, towards the end of our lease and says we have bed bugs again. We have not had any problem for months. We just recently moved out and have thrown everything away and we got a letter saying that we have to pay for a treatment again and one months rent because the apt has to be vacant for a month. Management says we have to pay because we did not tell them of the problem when we did, we just refused to pay for a few weeks to see if the bugs would die off. We then had no other issues with bugs so we didn't respond to their letters. Even when they said we had them last month we didn't see any bugs, evidence of bed bugs, or any bites. We are getting a lawyer involved. Please help, this is not right, thank you.
