COMPLAINT : Excessive showings, failure to make repairs, concern of retaliation
Fair Resolution according to renter :
  1. I don't want them showing my apartment unless the leak is fixed.
  2. I work third shift, 12 hours and a four day four off schedule. I understand the need for showing but call first and make all apointments on
  3. No retaliation. I believe the excessive showings intially was do to my complaints for repair of the leak.

COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

My bathroom has had the ceiling removed for three months now do to a leak. The leak has been ongoing for two years. I have had my ceiling torn apart 7 maybe more times. I have contacted maintenance on numerous occasions. The leak is the same leak that the tenant in apt 306 has been complaining about also. Maintenance has made attempts to fix the leak. Last year it was blamed on bad toilet habits. Maintenance even suggested to me they would be happy that the resident moved out. When a new resident moved in it was blamed on a leaking roof. In this time my ceiling was removed three times, each time the leak not repaired. I finally took video of the leak and exactly where it was located. I offered to show videos of exactly where the leak was, Maintenance has not returned. I gave up trying to get the leak repaired. Found another apartment turned in my 60 day required notice. My apartment was shown the following week. The two more appointments were made the same week, with the ceiling still in disrepair. although the appointments were cancelled and none rescheduled, Ther reaction when the potential residents looked at the apartment wasn't one that would indicate that they would rent an apartment with a ceiling torn out and wet and moldy areas above my bathroom. Despite this the leasing agent scheduled another showing the next day and one for Saturday, without even trying to have the lkeak fixed. I believe this to be excessive and an invasion of my privacy. I also believe it was retaliation for my complaining about the leak and videotaping it. Although no showing have been done since. I want a formal complaint filed for my own protection against any future invansions of my privacy or retaliation. Frankly I just want to be left alone till I move out. Since they haven't had any concern about the leak over the last two months, I really see no need for them to hurry and disrupt my life over it. Fix it when I move out.

Renter May 16, 2012 99.130.186.144 1.Today May 15, 2012, maintenance sent me an e-mail stating that plumbers would be arriving to fix the leak in my bathroom. Instead when we responded to the knock on the door it was the leasing manager. My wife woke me up thinking it was the plumbers, however the leasing agent stated he had left a voicemail the day before scheduling the tour. This was a lie. We at the time believed we had just missed it, but after reviewing our voice messages, there was none.

He stated that behind him his assistant would have another tour and that the tour would only last a minute or two. This was true, it was a short tour. The plumbers never showed and upon checking my e-mail I found that it would be rescheduled for Wednesday. I think what I have asked for was reasonable, fix the leak, then show the apartment.

They completely disregarded this request, the day before they were to respond to the compliant I filed with this agency. The leasing agent flat out lied that he had sent a voice mail. Frankly this seems to be more retaliation for a reasonable request to fix my bathroom leak after dealing with it for two years, a ceiling that has been torn out since Febuary or it is complete and utter lack of respect for residents or perhaps total incompetence, in either case my lease has been violated numerous times, my privacy and just they have shown a complete lack of respect.
