COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

I received a letter yesterday 01/09/2013 from Mr. Henry stating that my unit was infested with bed bugs and exterminators deemed me as the carrier apartment. I am denying this report because, after I moved in I called to have my apartment sprayed for bugs because there were coming out from everywhere big, small etc. After two different times calling the rental office, I was told that Cook's Pest Control only come out on Fridays so at that time I went to Home Depot and purchased my own bug control product and applied it throughout the apartment. Finally, after waiting two weeks a notice was left on my dining room table that Cooks Pest Control came out and sprayed. At that time no one stated that I had a bed bug problem. After about two more weeks I started to notice a difference in the amount of bugs we were seeing. Then on 01/03/13 I spoke to Mr. Henry. I was told that a unit in my building was having a problem with bed bugs and they needed to come in a spray all additional units on the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I said ok and Mr. Henry told me about moving the furniture away from the walls, removing all items from under beds and closet floors. At that time I asked him about the ant problem I had been having since 12/27/12 (also called on 01/02/13) and wanted to confirm that Cooks Pest Control will still come out on the next day to spray. He stated that they would be here. However, after calling four times for the same problem I became frustrated with the lack of concern, then at that time the leasing agent told me that they only sprayed the outside of the building and they would be out on 01/11/13 to spray my unit for ants. Which brings me to yesterday 01/08/13 when I received a letter taped to my door from Mr. Henry the apartment manager stating that my unit was the carrier and I would be charged for the eradication process for all units. This took me by surprise because on Saturday my children and I scoped the apt. from top to bottom and did not see any bugs. We broke down beds and looked thoroughly. Then I spoke to Mr. Henry and he stated they did not have any proof but Cooks Pest Control’s word that they were everywhere. Wouldn’t I have noticed these bugs if they were everywhere? What can I do? Please Help….
