COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Since I have lived in the 2 bedroom unit at the Central Ave location in Plainfield I have complained about bed bugs. I have been told numerous times that the issue would be resolved and that I did not need to report to health and safety board. It got to the point that after numerous complaints and calls I did not pay rent at that time Mr. and Mrs. Diaz filed for nonpayment. They have done this nerous times since I have lived here and complained each time before the court date calling and saying lets make some form of arrangement. This instance after agreeing to set a payment arrangement they went forward and tried to file again at that point I said lets just go to court. Upon speaking to Mrs. Diaz I was assured that If I went to court it was only a technicality to set a payment arrangement and that we would enter a payment arrangement set by a mediator and that I didnt need to file any reports or complaints with the city.Prior to that we had agreed that I would make a payment toward the back rent on the 15th of April and began a payment schedule which I agreed even issued a letter to Mr and Mrs Diaz per their request. Upon getting to court on 4/11/2013 in fact Mr. Diaz changed what we had agreed to and said he did not wish to have a mediator and would persue eviction. Myself and my children who I solely provide for have been subjected to sleep in conditions where bed bugs bite us in our sleep our furniture has been infested and we have gone months neglected of repairs that affect our daily living. Such things as a stove that was virtually unusable due to no handle, mold under the sink, and at a time a floor that due to flooding had lifted and was unsafe. It is only now that they wish to evict and reissue the unit for re rent that they began to fix some issues. Specifically a used stove, and randomly sending an exterminator to my apartment on days I am not there saying they have sprayed for bed bugs. This I find not true as I continue to see the bugs and they have now infested my couch that I sleep on due to the fact my mattress had become infested and I had to throw in the trash. I initially was told it was only me who complained about the bugs to only have the superintendent as well as the exterminators say that the building itself was in fact infested. I have only myself and my children and due to the constant and frequent filing of nonpayment complaints filed with the courts Mr. and Mrs. Diaz have made it impossible for me to move in an adequate manner

Landlord Apr 23, 2013 100.1.170.152 I received the letter April 19, 2013 @ 3pm, our mailman normally comes at this time. You said that you sent thru email on April 15, 2013? I did not see one. Thank you. Benito Diaz

Landlord Apr 23, 2013 100.1.170.152 As I responded yesterday, April 22, 2013 @2:15 pm. I cannot accept resolution or provide alternate. Mr Muhammad owe me 4 months rent. January 2013 to April 2013. He has been paying his rent late many times since he moved in April 2011. After his promissory notes, requests via phone that he will pay at a certain day and most of the times he fail to pay on his promised day, I still let him stay in the apartment. He told me about something to be fixed in his apartment recently. Carpenter/Super went to his apartment a lot of times but he does not show up on his scheduled time. I knew the bed bugs problem in his apartment recently. I hired Excel Termite and Pest Control for that, although, stated in the Lease that we both signed " Landlord is not responsible for bed bugs infestation". Please see attached document. Thank you. Benito Diaz

Landlord Apr 22, 2013 100.1.170.152 Explain why you can't accept / Offer Alternative Resolution.
