COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

May 25, 2013 Jay Manhertz, Plant Operations Director Belmont Center For Comprensive Treatment 4200 Monument Road Philadelphia, PA. 19131 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing this letter regarding the recent problems as a tenent at 4085 Ford Road, 2nd floor apartment. On May 23, 2013, the gas was shutoff. A notice was left with me by the PGW representative. Jay Manhertz was called, and the letter of the overdue bill was given to Jim Coleman of Plants Operations. As a tenant, I am not responsible for the gas bill. I expected that this problem would be taken care of immediately. I was given a number of excuses, but no results. There was discrepancy between AEMC and PGW as to whether the bill was actually paid. Neither cared about the conseqences of there dispute. I have been an employee of the AEMC for 29 years. It is horrible and disrespectful to be treated with such disregard. It is not only illegal, but against the centers Code of Conduct. I have been without hot water and the ability to use the stove for cooking from the 23rd to the 27th, or until the gas is turned back on. This problem, among others, have created an extreme amount of anxiety and anger, and has affected my physical wellbeing, as I have chronic illnesses. Other problems are the sewage back-up in the garage, the roof leaking, damaged left unclean now for eight months. Last month, the water department left a letter threatening to shut it off as well. It was not a viable solution to ask me to use the Belmont House to shower or cook while AEMC and PGW work out the problem. I have enclosed photos of problems and concerns I have in the apartment. In closing, I expect that there will be a solution immediately so that other tenants will not have to suffer in this manner. I can be reached at the following addresses and telephone number. 4085 Ford Road P. O. Box 2621 2nd Floor Apt. Bala Cynwyd, PA. 19004 Philadelphia, PA. 19131 (215)473-2129 wksfl@msn.com weeksf@einstein.edu Sincerely, Frausteen Weeks,RN
