I reported a possible insect issue in our apartment to the manager. They had someone inspect our apartment on that day (5/23) and called me back and said that I did indeed have bed bugs. They said that they I would be responsible for the charges in full since "I" brought them in. They said that since I was the only one in our building that has complained that there was no way the other units in our building or anyone else could possibly be at fault and said they would not inspect the other apartments in our building. On the day they called me back they said I would have to pay but they would not be able to get me an estimate until the next Tuesday (5/28). After calling to remind them on Tuesday they sent me the estimate that the inspector gave them 5 days prior. They said that I would have to do a "heat treatment" on my apartment and that they had already scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, June 5th and that I would have to accept the appointment or find someone else to do it but I would have to pay regardless. I have lived at in the same apartment for 3+ years and we have complained numerous times about the neighbors constantly having parties and leaving the inner apartment door propped open and they continue to say I'm fully responsible and will not help.
