COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
The rental home My wife and I moved into has bed bugs. We received Bites within the first 2 nights we were living there. We know we didnt bring them into the home becuase we lived with a friend prior to moving in. That friend does NOT have bed bugs and he never had bed bugs. My wife and I are new to a problem like this as we have never encountered bed bugs, so for the first few weeks we didnt understand were our bites were coming from. Then we Actually caught and killed a Beg bug, we didnt know it was one at first untill we googled "bed bugs" then it was confirmed. As soon as we realize we had a problem we contacted the landlord. The landlord was in denial and told us that he hasn't had a problem in that home. I explained to him that we never had bed bugs and the friend we lived with doesnt have bed bugs either. Also my wife and I were searching the home for bed bugs in the second bedroom and in the closet and around the window we found white powder spread around ( We did NOT Put it there). We asumed it was diatomaceous earth, a powder used to kill bugs. My wife Txted our landlord and told him about the powder we found and he responded and said it was from the previous tenate because he had "fleas". We made a video of the powder we found and we made a video of bed bugs we captured. Also we saved the txt message from the land lord. I Have tryed to be a nice guy and deal with the landlord peacfully and the landlord gave us a gallon of chemical to spray in to house but that did not work. The landlord did not seem interested in helping us with the problem and after much compaining he said profecinal help was to expensive. After that he decided to attemt to "heat treat" the house himself to kill the bed bugs. The first time was unsucsesfull because he only did it for a few hours and then he tryed it a second time. and again it was unsucsesfull because he only heated to house for a couple hours at the required temp. to kill the bugs. We have lived here for almost 2 mounths and we have had enough of this problem. We cant take it anymore, we cant sleep in peace like we should knowing were gonna get bit by bedbugs. no one should have to live like this and conditions like this make the home uninhabitable. The Landord needs to call in profesinal to fix this problem so we can have a normal life again.
