I reported bed bug issue to Rosedale Management Company on June 24th. The management company responded quickly and called the ABCO Examinating Corp to examine my apartment and I was told that all the cost will be on them.
ABCO Examinating Corp came on July 1st to spay the apartment. However, I still got bites and caught another bed bug on July 8th. I reported the incidence to Rosedale Management Company on July 9th and requested a second spray of my apartment. By July 12th, I didn't hear anything from either the management company or ABCO Examinating Corp.
I got a mail on July 12th from Rosedale Management Company stating that " it is likely that you brought the bedbugs with you when you moved into the apartment. Therefore, you are responsible for the cost of the treatment.
I felt uncomfortable about the statement and about the possible accusation by the Rosedale Management Company. It is illegal to charge the tenant for the bed bug treatment cost. Also, the landlord is responsible to eradicate bed bugs in 30 days.
