COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter) |
I live in a ground floor apartment surrounded by many trees. Last year I discovered a small garden snake inside my apartment and as a result requested my apartment treated for pest control. This was done by my rental company. On 7/21/13 I noticed 2 bugs on kitchen floor and another on my bathroom floor. I notified the apt manager. She sent a pest control professional to inspect my apt. He examined the bugs from my kitch floor (which I kept) and said they were baby spiders. He then examined my bedroom area, removed the bedding from my bed to examine my mattress, he lifted my bed to examine my bed frame and found a speck he said was a baby bed bug. Upon further examination of a box under my bed he found another small bedbug. He told me it appeared to be a minor issue and it looked like he caught it in time. Asked if I needed to vacate the apt, he said no, it was not that serious- I should just sleep on the couch if I was not comfortable sleeping in the bed and limit my contact with the bedroom. He reported his findings t o the apt Manager who informed me the Apt needs to be treated and I will have to pay the entire costs $500.00. My lease state that I "MAY be required to pay all reasonable costs". That seems very subjective. I do not have a clear understanding of what determines if I pay or not ...Or if I pay a partial amount. I strongly disagree with this and am seeking your assistance with resolving this matter.
