I live in Denver Co. i was in a hurry to find an apt just for the fact that it was a sudden move from another state and needed to move out of my aunts house. I told the landlord of this complex if it was possible that i can get the apt as soonas possible and she said yes. i went to the office to see if the apt was almost ready and he said that the carpet had been ordered to be changed. i had already payed my security deposit of $300 plus aplication fee of $50 prior of even getting a tour, seeing the apartment or even knowing if i was going to be approved. i was put on 'hold' for a one bedroom apatment, we are four. i just found out recently that due to colorado law only 2 people can live in a one bedroom for safety reasons. she didnt tell me that,and i know for a fact other families are like that, which she is breaking the law. Now that im no longer interested in the apartment i asked for my security deposit back, irene told me to call back the next day due to the fact she had to ask the other manager steve. i called back the next day and she didnt get my call she had the receptionist tell me that i could get it back. i asked if i can talk to steve and they said to call back the next day around eleven. i called and irene said he had said no.i called and one lady tells me steve will be in later and when i call to make sure the other lady says he is not there and that i am not going to get my deposit back. i hadent even moved in the apartment, let olone seen the inside!! i never got a call that i was APPROVED she just told me i was on hold. i still had to turn in proof of income and my rental history.
