I believe that my landlord is currently trying to evict me with no legal basis, from my understanding many of the issues my husband and I have suffered through because of the neglectful ways the apartment is run and upkept are not legal and or up to code. I have typed up an official letter and sent it to my landlord which stated three major issues needing attention or repair, one being the fully caved in step leading up to my second floor apartment, which is a huge issue and saftey hazzard being that i am fully disabled and moving out is obviously an issue without safe steps to walk down. I have also inquired about a key to acsess the downstairs theremastat numerous times and have been told that i would recieve one, i have no control over my heat and am currently using space heaters just to survive the temperatures. Starting in september of last year there was a major bed bug infestation, Patrick (landlord) was willing to pay for spot treatments when the fumigator recomended a full fumigation of the premisis, this resulted in the infestation lasting 9monthes, and large ammounts of emotional and mental distress i also have medical documentation that states a sleep disorder had developed. I have documentation of the letter sent to my landlord of the step being a hazzard, a window that had litterally fell out of the sill due to cracked and outdated calking, and a cabinet door that needed replaced. I also have the text messages saved in my cell phone from my landlord questioning why i would be requesting or concerning myself with home improvements when i am supposed to be moving out.
