My lease at churchwood apartments ended on Feb. 28 2013. I decided not to renew the lease and move out of the apartment. I let the cite manager know of this decision and he informed me that i would not be recieving my $200 deposit back due to the fact that i didn't give him a thirty day notice. I agreed and proceeded to move out of the apartment. On Feb. 28 i finished moving out, cleaning up the apartment and shampooing the carpet at around 8 p.m. Due to the fact that the office was already closed by then i was unable to turn in the key on that day. I went to turn in the key the next day and no one was in the office. I repeated the same thing the next day and again no one was in the rental office. On my next day off i went back to the rental office there was still no one there so i waited around in the parking lot for an hour and no one showed up. My sister worked around the corner from the apartment complex so i gave her the key to turn in for me the next day. She went to turn in the key and no one was in the office so she put the keys in the office drop box. I called a number of times to see if the property management received the keys yet and what was the next step i needed to take but i didn't get an answer. Months later when i check my credit report i notice that there was a charge of $576. I called partnership to see exactly what it was and she explained to me that it was for a month and a half of rent. When i explained to the individual that i was not there for those months she became rude with me. I feel that this apartment complex is unorganized and I am having to suffer due to their mistake.
