It was made aware that I have a toddler, who is only here 6 days out of the month, upon signing the lease. We have received multiple phone calls about him being loud, and we try our best to maintain his noise level. The first complaint we received was within the first 12 hours of being here, after she decided to beat on the ceiling with what sounded to be a broomstick, while we were still in the process of moving boxes into the apartment. The second complaint we received, about him being noisy until midnight, was false as I put him to bed every night at 9 pm. Now, we have received a visit from (probably the on site) police. This occurred at 8:30 pm. The policeman advised me to learn to control my child and that if it happens again, the community manager, Wanda Santiago, who lives directly under us will be filing a letter stating we will have to move out. Someone cannot be evicted from their home for having children, and I don't appreciate such threats. The property manager who lives directly under us is constantly making complaints about normal every day living sounds, and I don't feel this is acceptable as we pay our rent on time, each month just like everyone else here. We were never advised that we were moving in above the property manager, and for the first few months all the complaints were "received" by (her) the manager who was masquerading as a separate tenant. All we're doing is living normally, practically tiptoeing in our home that we pay a decently large amount for, and we're being threatened by policeman with eviction. This is unnecessary and unacceptable. We also hear a numerous amount of sounds from above us, however we don't feel the need to complain because that is what we signed up for when signing the lease to an apartment, and not a home. Please contact us as soon as possible. I sincerely wish to have this type of harassment seized.
