My roommate and I have a bed bug problem and we were told to move our belongings. There is a dumpsite at the apartment complex were I have seen people dump bulk trash such as mattresses, washer, dryers, etc. I was walking by one evening and asked an employee if it was ok to dump bulk items there. He said yes. So I told my roommate but before I did anything I was looking through our contract to see if it was the apartment complex responsibility to foot the bill for the pest control to come spray. It said we where responsible for the bill and would be responsible for disposing bulk items at an offsite location. So I rented a storage building, put all my belongings in it except for my mattress which I moved to my sisters house under her carport. We got a notice that said we needed to go sign some paperwork for pest control to come spray. My roommate went to go sign without my knowledge and Edna asked him if we got rid of anything at the dump. And without him knowing I put anything in storage he said yes I think my roommate got rid of some stuff. She said we would have to pay. I had no knowledge of this till after our rent bill came out an addition $600 was tacked on to the rent for disposal of a mattress. I contacted Edna multiple times to explain we have not dumped anything all furniture is accounted for. Even though she admitted others have dumped at that location and we weren't the only residents with bedbug problems. Seems to me they are looking for any excuse to pin a bill on someone. I want that $600 charge taken off and don't want it to effect my credit. I am not paying $600 for somebody else's mistake.
