You don't understand. When I first looked at the place, there were several items that needed to be done, HE SAID it, not me.

I wrote a list because when we speak in person, he says the same thing, "yeah we have to get this stuff done and fixed, like I promised you when you moved in."

I waited one month to get a working oven and another month getting dryer to work. All these appliances were here when I moved in and should be in working order, again, just like the LANDLORD said, not me.

The steps going down were rotted and dangerous, that took 4 months to repair.

I never said the items were necessities, just some, like rotted steps, leaking roof, and NO lighting. In my state, lighting is required by law by the owner/landlord.

Once again, the list is for his benefit, he seems to be very forgetful. I have never demanded, threatened, or argued with him. I am always polite, because again, HE said it, not me.

He also left his pool table here, when I moved in he asked me if I wanted to buy it. I said no. He said he would have it removed. That was in May, 5 months ago, the pool table is still here. So now I am storing it for him because he can't or won't afford to have it out. I don't care if its here or not, but he said it would be removed.............

It sounds like there are some communication issues if your landlord is surprised. Not to cut you down, but you might be being a bit too picky! A list of repairs?! The repairs you mentioned in your post are hardly urgent and are not legally required in any way. Lighting in the stairwell should be made available, but you won't find a law that requires landlords to provide such a thing.

Relax!! You've probably made your landlord extremely annoyed with your list of "Non-essential" repairs. Unless you have a real repair need, I would suggest doing away with demands and list of repairs.

If you like the place, consider how much of a burden you are placing on your landlord... If you are constantly finding minor repair issues and making long lists you will most likely find yourself looking for a new place to live. If you were my tenant, I wouldn't renew your contract.

(This is based upon your post above that really has no evidence of major repair issue.) I'd be interested to see your list.
