I can understand your frustration with wanting a close parking space for your apartment. You may be protected if there is a lease agreement that includes the parking space. Just because an apartment building is sold or under new management does not give them right to alter a prior agreement. They are required by law to honor any existing agreement you had.

Check your lease agreement and see if it includes the parking space. If it does, then you are safe. You won't have to worry about anything they say no matter how much they talk down to your or attempt to force their new rules. If they do, you can politely refer them to your lease agreement.

What ever you do DON'T sing a new contract!!! This is the oldest trick in the book. When a new property is bought or under new management often times the manager will come around telling you that you need to sing the new agreement-- DON'T! By signing a new agreement of any sort, you may be giving away rights that were previously granted to you under the old agreement.
