COMPLAINT DETAILS (from renter)

Mr. Jeck, My name is Lucas Werner. My former roommates and I have been trying to contact you via text for some time now (one of us for well over a year). We have been trying to get our security and pet deposits back. I have stayed in one of your units for two years, and have had a different roommate both years (Ben Connors in 2016-2017, Dylan Houge in 2017-2018), for a total of three people. As required by your lease, we each gave you 375 dollars for security deposits. My first roommate also gave you 750 dollars at your request as a pet deposit for his cat. Ben moved out at the end of his lease in June of 2017. From the time he moved out til now (over a year later) he has tried to contact you numerous times about his security deposit and pet deposit without a response. Dylan and I moved out at the end of our lease in June of 2018. We both tried contacting you starting in July about reimbursement. It was not until over one week and a dozen or so text messages that you finally replied and assured us that our checks were going to be in the mail July 13, 2018. You gave Dylan and I each $51.02 and an expense sheet. We noticed that you had only accounted for two security deposits when writing up the expense sheet, which would mean that you still would be required to give us the 375 dollar security deposit as well as a 750 dollar pet deposit. We receiving your expense sheet, we have been trying to contact you without any success. We have sent numerous text messages and I have tried calling/ left a voicemail. In our opinion, avoiding contacting us constitutes malicious intent, which would mean you would forfeit any and all of our remaining deposits. Because of this, we are seeking the 750 dollar pet deposit, the remainder of the all 3 security deposits (totaling $1020.96), a 100 dollar late fee for all the time and effort we have put in trying to get in contact with you, and any Rental Protection Agency fees. It is our hope that we can get this situation taken care of in a timely fashion.
