But, you are kind of in a bad situation. The lease you agreed to will show that you agreed to the automatic lease renewal, thus legally you are not in a good position.

If you were to hire an attorney, there is little they could do to assist you. Since you have nothing to lose, I would try filing a complaint with the RPA… hopefully the threat of a negative public record will get your landlord to be more reasonable.
