In Virginia it needs to be at least 68. I am dealing with the same problem. Take video that prove the dates for every day that you are without air. My air spikes up to 80 and I have a 3 month old, and I cant open up the windows, because there are no screens, and im highly allergic to bee's so I really cant chance one coming in. Im currently looking at the laws per state, here is the laws for your, copy and then paste this link in your search engine,

Fla. Stat. Ann. §§ 83.40 to 83.682

Or I found this for you

cdn.publicinterestnetwork.org/assets/LeMrpgDx23ksuwsXJvUavw/Renters-Rights-2.1.pdf

I hope this is helpful, and gets you, and your children out of the heat, and humidity!

My landlord used to excuse that its because im upstairs, I know upstairs bring more heat, but that doesnt mean my air shouldnt work!
