Did your landlord give you a copy of the gas bill? Was it written on your lease that the gas bill should be split between everyone living in the rental unit?If not then your landlord cannot do so. You have every right to file a complaint against your landlord through small claims court or through RPA.

You may be charged more than what you actually use.

If you turn a bill in for more than you actually use this is fraud. Since there is only 1 meter there is no actual way to know for sure just how much you used.
