I specifically asked the landlord if the property was section 8. She looked a little offended and said Absolutely NOT! After a short time, we found out it is Section 8 and I was never given the option to not rent because she lied to me. She did the same toother residents. Is this legal and if not, what can we do?

I’m not quite sure about it. Why not file a complaint then? If she did lied to you about, you might be compensated and the landlord could get a bad record, fits her right if she did lie to you about it.
