Wow it must be a trend with landlords. I promise you the same thing is happening to me as I type. This home I was renting is in a beautiful gated community in South Florida Margate area, but it is foreclosed. It is somewhat outdated. And defiantly could use some upgrading. At the end of my lease I was told by the property managers that they weren’t renewing my lease. During my one year stay; there were many things needed repaired from day one of me moving in. These complaints were totally ignored and never fixed instead they waited until we moved out to fix things that I had complained about the entire year. I even had to ask for the deposit. They sent a long list of things they had repaired on me! I scheduled a walk through with a realtor “posing as a potential renter of the same home in subject” and was shocked to see that most of the things on the list that I was being charged for had not been repaired! But left for the next tenants to pay! I even had to hire an electrician to come and fix the wall plug for the dryer! But they didn’t mention that! The house was cleaner than the way they had given to me. I spent a day making sure I’d get my deposit back but never did. Ordinary ware and tear don’t exist in south Florida according to Legal Aid.
