		<description><![CDATA[Hmmm.. That&#039;s quite expensive. There is nothing on the Standard Tenancy Terms or the Residential Tenancies Act that states you should do the steam cleaning of carpets. It is only stated there that you must give back the property on almost the same condition as it was in when you moved in. The only times that you will be required to pay for cleaning and carpet fees is when these are particularly written out in the lease agreement that you signed and the carpet has been steam cleaned when you moved in. If the carpets were professionally cleaned and steamed before you moved in, then the landlords must be able to produce receipts. You may have verbally agreed to the cleaning fees, but not to the carpet fees. You may ask for receipts so you will have proof of the jobs being done but that still means you will be paying for them. So in this case, I would highly recommend that you file a complaint against your previous landlord. RPA has that option through their complaint center.]]></description>
