		<description><![CDATA[No such law is on the books. I&#039;m assuming that you either want new carpet installed and are hoping for a law to back you up or that the landlord is attempting to charge your security deposit for carpet replacement due to a law that he says requires it. 

Either way, there is no law that requires a landlord to replace carpet after any amount of years. Carpet is a cosmetic item and not a requirement, thus there is no law to regulate cosmetic carpet replacement.]]></description>
