Sorry your having issues like this. Negligence could lead you to paying this amount – If this is stated in your lease. My friend encountered same type of problem like this before. What she did was she tried to talk to the LL. But instead she ended up filing a compliant through RPA which turns out to be a good move since the RPA agent helped her out. You might want to consider both options.
