As a landlord it is his responsibility to do maintenance repairs on the rental unit and also to make sure that the rental unit is in good living condition and habitable to live by a human. Since your landlord failed to do his responsibility then it would be better if you file a complaint against him. Maybe by doing that he will do his responsibilities as a landlord and fix your problem. You can file your complaint with the RPA, I heard they are very good in handling these landlord-tenant problems.
