HI I RECENTLY HAD A NEIGHBOR BLAME MY COMPANY FOR TAKING A CELL PHONE WHEN IT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING.MY FRIEND AND HER DAUGHTER AS WELL AS MINE.WERE ON THERE WAY OUT .AT THE APARTMENT ;S FRONT DOOR THERE WAS A CELL PHONE THAT WAS BEING A DOOR STOP . MY DAUGHTER WALKING OUT PIKED IT UP AND THOUGHT IT WAS MY FRIENDS . MY FRIEND WAS LIKE NO ITS NOT MINE DIDNT THINK NOTHING ABOUT IT THREW IT IN THE CAR AND WAS LIKE WHERE U FIND THE PHONE AT .MY DAUGHTER SAID IT WAS ON THE FLOOR.OKAY THE CELL PHONES OWNER/MY NEIGHBOR;S SON SAW WAT HAPN WENT TOLD HIS MOM .20 MIN GO BY MY NEIGHBORS AT MY DOOR SAYN UR FRIEND TOOK MY CELL PHONE I BETTER GET IT BACK.THATS STOLEN PROPERTY ILL MAKE A POLICE REPORT .I RESPONDED LIKE OKAY LET ME CALL AND FIND OUT WATS GOIN ON.CALLED MY DAUGHTER ASK IF THEY TOOK OR PIKD UP A PHONE SOME WERE ON THERE WAY OUT .SHE SAID YES I SAID OKAY LET ME TALK TO MY FRIEND AND ASK HER TO BRING IT BACK AND WAT HAPPN .MY FRIEND SAID OH UR DAUGHTER FOUND THE PHONE ON THE FLOOR AND THOUGHTIT WAS MINE AND I SAID NO THREW IT IN THE CAR AND WE LEFT .I LET HER KNOW IT WAS MY NEIGHBORS AND THEY WANTED IT BAK ASAP.SHE WAS LIKE OK IM GOING BACK OVER THERE SO ILL TAKE IT TO YOU .MY NEIGHBBOR WAS THREATNING ME SAYN SHE WAS GONNA CALL THE POLICE AND THAT THE MANAGER WAS INVOLVED NOW.I TOLD MY NEIGHBOR OK WELL MY FRIEND IS COMING BACK WITH YOUR PHONE NOBODY STOLE YOUR PHONE INTENTIONALY,MY DAUGHTER PIKD IT UP BY ACCIDENT THOUGHT IT WAS MY FRIENDS NOW IF YOU FEEL LIKE MAKING A POLICE REPORT BECAUSE YOU FELL THAT IT WAS STOLEN THEN YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO .THATS UP TO YOU.MY DAUGHTER DIDNT NOT DO IT ON PURPOSE SIMPLE MISTAKE..OK THEY SAID WELL GIVE HER A HOUR TO COME BACK SHE DONT COME WE CALLIN THE COPS .OK DO AS YOU PLEASE.LONG STORY SHORT MYFRIEND BROUGHT THE PHONE BACK NO PROBLEM MANAGER DIDNT SAY NOTHING TO ME JUST STARED AT ME .WHAT WAS I TO TELL HER .SO SHE SAYS TO MY NEIGHBORS DID SHE BRING THE PHONE BACK.THEY SAID YES AND THE MANAGER SLAMMED THE DOOR??MY QUESTIONS IS SHOULDNT THE MANAGER HAVE AT LEAST MADE AN EFFORT TO COME AND ASK ME WHAT WAS GOING ON INSTEAD OF JUST SLAMING HER DOOR AND NOT TAKING CARE OF A TENANT COMPLAINT ACCORDINGLY ESPECIALLY IF THE COPS WERE GOONA BE INVOLVED …I FEEL LIKE THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME ACTION ON HER PART RESOLVING THE ISSUE SINCE SHE WAS INVOLVED.. NOW SHE HAS A PROBLEM WITH HER ADDITUDE SO BEFORE SHE MAKES ME LOOK LIKE IM A BAD UNTRUST WORTHY TENANT TO THE OWNER .I FEEL I SHOULD WRITE A LETTER TO THE OWNER LETTING THEM KNOW WAT EXACTLY HAPPEND AND HOW I FEEL THE MANAGER FAILED TO HANDLE THE SITUATION.DID THE APARTMENT MANAGER NEED TO TAKE ACTION OR NOT???

Bad property manager

OK, first problem with our complex is poor management, poor lighting and poor grounds. Our landlord/manager is NEVER on premise, and his super is a husband and wife. The husband recentely got out of jail, but when I moved in the wife told us he was not here because he was working. Apparently he did time for growing marijuana. This is the man who will come to make neccessary repairs in our apartment, and we’re VERY uncomfortable having him around us and in our apartment. Is it legal to have someone with a criminal record as a super? Should I make a property manger complaint with the RPA? Not only is this guy a bad property manager, he’s a crook!

Also, the super’s son and friends are constantly working on thier cars in the parking lot. The leave the cars up on jacks overnight (extremely dangerous) and oil all over the parking lot. How do we get this to stop. We sent in a complaint with the landlord and even have pictures of all this, so what do we do now?

Hello Sauna,

My name is Mikhail, I have a problem with my manager in my apartment building. I live in small apartment building ( 21 units).The problem is that few years back she (agent/ manager of the building) put lights outside of my apartment door for cosmetic purposes using my electric power . My electric bill went up about 10- 15 dollars a month. She took the electric power from the in side of our apartments. When I ask her to make reimbursement for that light. She told me I have to get out. All residents of our apartment building don’t now about that.They do not know that they have to pay for her illegal installation of those lights.

What can I do ?
