15 Year Old Promises

   I’ve lived in this 4-plex for 20 years.  15 years ago a new owner took charge, raised the rent $50.00 a month (no biggie), and promised to replace my single pane windows.  The windows need replacing because of obvious gaps that even allow bees and wasps inside during the summer, not to mention that when it’s windy, and the windows are shut as tight as can be, (some don’t lock) the curtains will billow and blow, the windows will rattle, and… it snows inside.

  My utility bill is ugly, to say the least.

  His excuse is that he is still going through a court issue with a guy that was supposed to do the work.                              Huh?  How many years?!  

 There are more issues, but I’d rather focus on one at a time.

Hello Liz. I’m surprised you put up with empty promises for the past 15 years. That takes a lot of patience. To perhaps put some sense into your landlord’s head, you can file a formal complaint against him. I think the RPA has that option and you may want to check it out.
