Problem with Lease Agreement

I noticed you haven’t really gotten very many comments to your question,  most likely due to the question you’ve asked.  The answer varies per lease agreement, and per legal statute set by your State.
 
To provide you with a generic answer to your question I will state the following:
1)  Lease Terms:
AUTOMATIC RENEWAL:  Some leases will automatically renew on a year to year basis.  Thus your lease term would automatically extend unless you provided a written termination notice.
AUTOMATIC TERMINATION:  Other leases will clearly end at the end of your lease term thus you would be required to move by the end of your lease date UNLESS management provides you with a written opportunity to renew or extend your current lease.
MONTH TO MONTH:  The most common condition is where the lease automatically goes into a month to month agreement.  This would mean that either party can provide a 30 day written notice to end the agreement.
