breaking lease due to job transfer-nothing in lease addresses this

I was transferred to Arkansas from Connecticut for work.  My problem is that my landlord wants me to pay rent until they sell the place.  They arent even going to try to rent it out again.  I just signed a 24 month lease on October 1, 2010 and have fulfilled all of my obligations to this point.  I have offered to the landlord a maximum of 3 months rent plus they will be keeping my security deposit.  I guess my biggest question is what the maximum amount my landlord could ask of me. Nothing in the lease addresses breaking due to work.  I could understand if I were changing companies or chose to move but I am staying with the same company and simply transferring accross divisions. Any suggestions or advice?
