Water being shut off!!!!

My landlord has not paid the water bill for the past two months. I come home from work and notice my toilet will not flush. I called the water company and they told me that the landlord did not pay the bill and he will not sign to have the water turned back on. In Iowa the water can be turned back on by the tenants request as long as all tenants are home at the time that the water is turned back on. I have been told by Home Inc. that my landlord has broke my lease and I can move anytime I want and will be entitled to all of my deposit as well. Is this true?

Go over your lease again. In most cases, a lease will require a landlord to be responsible enough to manage his premise. Again leases may vary so I would suggest to check your lease and have your landlord look at it. Otherwise file a complaint through RPA.
