Who owes my deposits?

I live in Alabama and would like to know if anyone knows who suppose to pay my deposits back if the landlord foreclosed on the property and the bank took over. The old landlord claims he turned over the deposit money to the bank and the bank denies that claim.  Who do I need to take to court?
