It depends on the contract of the tenant. If the tenant has a lease then the landlord cannot increase the rent until the lease expires. However, if the tenant pays the rent on a monthly bases without a long term lease then the landlord can increase the rent but he has to issue a 30 days notice. If your landlord violated this, it is best to file a complaint and look for a new apartment.

I pay every twice a month. can the landlord raise rent during the two week like serve on 1st for 15th increase?
in new hampshire.
