can a landlord make you move during a heatwave?

By Nita57

Our landlord decided he was ready to retire and wanted to sell the home we had been renting for over 5 years.  He told us in June that we would need to either buy his house or move, so we opted to move and found another house.  We made arrangements to have movers come on Saturday July 9th because we could not afford the rate to move on Saturday July 2nd due to the holiday weekend.  Unfortunately, a heat wave came into town.  So on Monday July 11th we were working ourselves to move boxes out of the house and let him know that with the heat, my heart conditionand my husbands bad back that we would need more time.  The heat wave is still in full force with heat indices at 110 and he is becoming angry that we have not yet emptied his house.  What can we do or tell him?
