can my landlord do something

my landlord wants me to pay for june,s rent now and my rent is paid up until the end of may.  my unemployment runs out next month but i wanted to know if my landlord can ask for june,s rent in march   my lease states that rent is due on the first of every month and it does not say anything about advance rent   please respond
