co-signer right to term lease

By anonymous

I’m a renter who has a co-signer that does not reside in the apt where myself and children reside. She is threatening to term the lease due to late payment of partial rent. My rent was never late more than a day to a week past grace period. She has received the same notices when late. I have been in apt for 6 mths. She is now threatening to term lease and giving me two weeks to vacate. I have not received any notices from the management office she is claiming that it has affected her credit score. I contacted the management office and they stated that they do not report to agencies under these circumstances. What are my legal rights!!!!

You should have made your payments on time! There is no excuse, your co-signer gave you a chance by signing for you, you obviously had no credit of your own! Stop using your kids to make people feel sorry for you!
