Cockroach Infestation

I need help badly, please. I am renting a house in Southern Illinois. After 2 days of living here, we found out there was a bad cockroach problem, an infestation. The landlord had us try home remedies. The problem has only gotten worse. Cockroaches on the tables, tvs, EVERYWHERE! There is cockroach feces droppings all over the house. Now, she wants us to help her pay for an exterminator. She wants us to pay $200. We have never had cockroaches in our lives! They were in this house, it is her property and we feel this is her responsibility to pay for it. Before I talk to her again, I want to know what my rights are in regards to this. Please help!!! Thank you so much!
