Deposit, first and last month rent

I am currently renting.  We have purchased a home and we will be moving out.  When we came to live at the apartment I gave a deposit, first and last month rent.  I plan to move out by the end of september 2010.  My question is: do I pay rent for the month of September?  I figure last months rent cover the rent for september
