Ex parte protection order
By Brennon
Does an ex parte protection order in Indiana allow the petitioner to terminate their lease without a hearing? My ex falsely accused me of domestic violence, had me served with an ex parte order and moved out the day after I was served. I petitioned for a hearing to dismiss the order. The order was dismissed and my ex stopped paying rent. I paid her share of rent out of my pocket. I recently sued her in small claims court to recover the unpaid rent. Did I have a case?
