Is my lease binding…

By Unemployed...

My husband has lost his job locally but found another job in a different state.  As I was reading our lease agreement I noticed that, although the lease is in both our names, only I signed it.  Would this make the lease invalid and therefore release us of the remaining 3 months of the lease?

Yes, your lease is valid.  Its clear you are seeking a technicality to terminate your lease.  You would be best to discuss the situation with management to see what type of penalty you are required to pay.

You can be held responsible for the remaining 3 months plus fees if you try to move without making some type of arrangement first.
