Late fees on water bill

By James

My land lord is taking my rent money that was paid on time and applying to my water bill balance without my knowledge then 10 days later I receive a bill with 85.00 in late fees to be paid immediately.

You need to refer to your lease agreement. See what it says if you are in charge of your water bill or not. If you are, then you need to catch up on your payments. See if you can work something out with your landlord or the water company. I don’t know about the late fees though. Check into your lease.

Maybe this is just a miscommunication. But if you think about it, why would you get a late fee if he has paid the water bill with your rental money. If he did pay the water bill, you won’t have any overdue charges, all you need is to pay for the rental. hmmm.
